Lakeshore Foundation 2012 US Paralympic Military Program Plus

Received this morning, please pass along.  Karl

Good afternoon and Happy New Year!

I would like to share with you the Lima Foxtrot’s 2012 schedule of events. The Lima Foxtrot program is Lakeshore Foundation’s initiative for severely injured military. Our programs serve those servicemen and women with injuries such as spinal cord injury (permanent paralysis), TBI, amputation, blind/visually impaired, burns, and permanent disfigurement.  Their injuries do not have to be combat-related, but it is preferred that they served post 9/11. Both active duty personnel and veterans are eligible for Lima Foxtrot programs. You are receiving this information because you either serve our injured servicemen and women directly or you have contacts that do. You all are our primary recruiting source and we appreciate the support you have shown and continue to show for the programs we provide.

The 2012 Lima Foxtrot events are:
Clinics in archery, shooting, basketball, cycling, track & field, sitting volleyball, streng <> th and conditioning, tennis and swimming will be led by Paralympic athletes and coaches. All skill levels are welcome.

Exclusive for servicemen and women who have suffered significant eye injuries or blindness while on active duty to the service member and a guest.

Designed to introduce severely injured military personnel and their families to recreational sports opportunities. Limited to children ages 7 and up and families of four. Provisions for larger families made on a case-by-case basis.

Exclusive for servicemen and women who have suffered traumatic brain injury at no cost to military personnel and one guest.

An extended outdoor adventure weekend held at Lake Martin, Ala., for severely injured service members and a guest.
All Lima Foxtrot events include all meals, lodging, air and ground transportation, and all sports and recreation activities at no cost. If you click on the above events, you will be directed to our website and be able to download the flyer and application in PDF format.

Attached you will find the Introduction to Sports Camp flyer and application. We are accepting applications for 30 participants and the applications are accepted on a first-come, first-serve for those qualified service members. If you have specific questions pertaining to qualifications, please don’t hesitate to contact me directly.  We would like to have as many applications submitted by Friday, January 20th to ensure proper time for travel arrangements. Once we have filled all 30 slots, a waiting list will be started to implement in case of last minute cancellations.

Feel free to contact me should you have any questions or need additional information. Hope you have had a great start to 2012!
